A vacation abroad gives a Denton entrepreneur an idea that hauled in a Shark Tank investment

Updated with the outcome of Bunch Bikes’ Shark Tank appearance.

Aaron Powell always knew there was something more for him than teaching middle and high school band.

During a family trip to Sweden in 2016, the Texas native saw electric cargo bikes that transported everything from groceries to children. He returned home to Denton looking to buy one for his family but couldn’t find anything close to the popular bikes he had seen on vacation. That’s when inspiration hit.

Powell began working with a factory that makes bikes for the Scandinavian market, adding his own specifications and components to suit an American market, including increased wattage. Within a few months, Bunch Bikes was born.

Three years later, Powell is pitching Bunch Bikes on ABC’s Shark Tank. Powell was featured Friday on an episode of the popular entrepreneurship reality show.

Powell sought a $250,000 investment for a 10% stake of

PDRM Is Looking For Fashion Show Organiser And Guests For Breaking SOPs During Event

Last week, a local fashion designer became a hot topic among netizens for all the wrong reasons after organising a fashion show that allegedly didn’t comply with the COVID-19 SOPs set by the government.

The designer in question, Leeyanarahman, was criticised heavily after most guests were seen not wearing facemasks and not practising social distancing.

What infuriated netizens further is when one of the co-founders made a distasteful joke, even go so far as to admitting that there were no SOPs during the event and there will probably be a new cluster named after it.

Justice prevails

After the whole hoo-ha, PDRM said in a statement that they are looking for the parties involved in the fashion

Some Poles flout virus rules as harder lockdown takes effect

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The Piw Paw club in Warsaw advertised its event as a “Pandemic Fashion Show,” with models wearing “masks from the Spring 2021 collection.”

But even before the show could start on Friday night, police swept in. They cleared away the few customers and arrested the club owner, who has defiantly kept his doors open despite pandemic restrictions banning the sale of alcohol or indoor dining — and despite earlier police raids and detentions.

A raft of new pandemic restrictions took effect in Poland on Saturday to slow the spread of the coronavirus as central Europe has emerged as a global hot spot. But as the club raid shows, authorities already had problems with people flouting the existing rules.

Piw Paw owner, Michal Maciag, says he is close to bankruptcy. He has used different ruses to try to stay open. Though he said he doesn’t consider the
