Driscoll will face challenge for St. Petersburg City Council seat

Brett Vickers, a St. Petersburg real estate agent and philanthropist, has filed to run for the District 6 City Council seat against incumbent Gina Driscoll.

Vickers, 57, a first-time candidate, said he has no history in politics or government but extensive involvement in local non-profit organizations through a charitable foundation of his wife’s family. Lisa Vickers is the daughter of the late Roy Speer, founder of Home Shopping Network.

Originally from Long Island, Vickers has been in Florida since 1994 and St. Petersburg since 2001. He’s a former NBA farm team owner and owner of a local franchise of the national Realty One Group. The couple live in Roser Park and have four grown children.

Participants in Phi Delta Epsilon’s third annual Anatomy Fashion Show will be switching things up and strutting down a virtual runway.

The Anatomy Fashion Show, a fundraising event for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals hosted by medical fraternity Phi Delta Epsilon, will be streaming on YouTube Live April 11. Normally an in-person event, the show will be fully virtual this year due to the pandemic but is still an opportunity for student leaders to come together for philanthropic work, Raj Patel, a fourth-year in neuroscience and co-coordinator of the event, said.

Sephora arrives at University Place with own store | Orem News

One of the most popular makeup and beauty supply stores in the United States, Sephora, has opened at University Place mall in Orem.

The store, which had a soft opening Monday has 5,000 square feet of space where set to help customers with beauty aids and sell hundreds of products.

This Sephora is the first stand-alone store in Utah County and offers an internal and external entrance to the store, according to Amanda Butterfield, spokesperson for Woodbury Corporation, owners of University Place.
