The Matriarch Collection – Anice Jewellery

Hi Fran here, I’ve been at Anice for just over 2 years and I’m excited to show you what I’ve been up to!
This collection is called Matriarch. Solely birthed from the need to create. This collection combines gold filled chain with freshwater pearls, quartz, and tourmaline crystals.
I used to have a mild disdain for pearls, pieces that reminded me of a more mature wear; for my mother and grandmother. But now, I love pearls for the exact same reason. Because they remind me of the matriarchs of my lineage. A staple that will never recede from the pedestal that will always be deemed as “classic”. Plus, these baroque pearls are organically formed to reflect the nature of the earth; imperfectly pristine.

Although it is a new year, 2020’s residual chaos still wreaks havoc among communities, businesses, and residents. Thanks to organizations like @reclaimrebuildegwest for taking the initiative into their own hands and providing relief to all of the above! A portion of the sales from this collection will be donated to their most recent initiative; the Tenant Relief Fund :
“Reclaim, Rebuild Eg West is a Black youth led organization founded this year, that is disrupting the status quo on what it means to be in community and for the livelihoods and freedoms we believe Black people in this city should be able to enjoy. While we’re energized by the current support for the cultural preservation and celebration of this area, we think it’s important to highlight the residents that have already been displaced as a  result of the failures of past and present governments to correct for the historical harms that have affected Afro-Caribbean communities.

Our organization is committed to providing support for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour who are tenants renting in parts of th city with historically large black populations, including Little Jamaica and the neighboring Weston Road Area, and we will be covering up to $800 of rent per applicant. As such, we need to raise as much funds as possible to try and cover as many rents for tenants in our communities as we can.”
