Company news: WCNY announces promotions of three longtime employees

WCNY announced the following staff promotions:

Haley Dubnoff, of Fayetteville, was promoted to senior director, marketing, communications and creative services. Dubnoff joined WCNY in 2013 and previously held communications and public relations positions at the United Way of Central New York and Loretto. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Douglas Moreau, of Sauquoit, was promoted to senior director, TV production in Syracuse. He joined WCNY in 2006 and previously was a producer/director at WTVI, Charlotte’s public television station, and a director at the Home Shopping Network in St. Petersburg, Fla. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the State University College at Cortland.

Sephora arrives at University Place with own store | Orem News

One of the most popular makeup and beauty supply stores in the United States, Sephora, has opened at University Place mall in Orem.

The store, which had a soft opening Monday has 5,000 square feet of space where set to help customers with beauty aids and sell hundreds of products.

This Sephora is the first stand-alone store in Utah County and offers an internal and external entrance to the store, according to Amanda Butterfield, spokesperson for Woodbury Corporation, owners of University Place.

It is located in the store area left by Charming Charlie on the southeast side of the mall, just across from Coldstone Creamery.

Kingsley woman hopes to expand Love Locker Project | News

FIFE LAKE — Patrons can check out more than books from the Fife Lake Public Library. Like snow pants, with no return date.

Just outside the library’s front door lies a “locker” full of winter clothes available to take for anyone who wants them, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, no questions asked.

It’s the first of hopefully many “love lockers” coordinated by 29-year-old Kingsley woman Caley Mehs. Plans are in place to open a second love locker in Buckley, hopefully having four to five by the summer.

Mehs said she drew inspiration for the project after delivering newspapers for the Record-Eagle in the Long Lake area.

“They have the little free libraries everywhere,” Mehs said. “I thought that was a really cool concept and I would like to kind of build on that idea and offer winter clothing.”
